Local Voices Wanted for District Committees for the Term 2026–2028

Northern Midlands Council is calling for nominations for the next round of District Committee memberships, covering the 2026–2028 term.
Mayor Mary Knowles OAM acknowledges the important role volunteers play in supporting their communities.
“District Committee members contribute valuable local knowledge and insight, helping Council understand the priorities and needs of each township,” the Mayor said.
“I would like to sincerely thank all current members for their time, dedication and commitment to their communities.”
Council is encouraging both current members and new applicants to nominate.
District Committees provide an opportunity for residents, business owners and community representatives to:
- Share local perspectives
- Contribute to community outcomes
- Strengthen connections between Council and residents
Members help to:
- Share community views with Council
- Identify local needs and priorities
- Provide feedback on Council projects and consultations
- Highlight issues affecting their town
- Contribute ideas for future works and services

Residents, business owners and community members with an interest in their local area.
- Avoca (and surrounding areas of Royal George and Rossarden)
- Campbell Town (and surrounding areas of Conara, Epping Forest, Cleveland and Lake Leake)
- Cressy incorporates (and surrounding areas of Blackwood Creek and Poatina)
- Evandale incorporates (and surrounding areas of Western Junction, Breadalbane, Deddington, Nile and Ben Lomond)
- Longford incorporates (and surrounding areas of Bishopsbourne, Toiberry and Liffey)
- Perth incorporates (and surrounding areas including Devon Hills)
- Ross incorporates (and surrounding Including Tooms Lake)
