Choose the Scenic Route Photography Competition
The Northern Midlands Council launched the Choose the Scenic Route photography competition as part of its ongoing commitment to celebrate the region’s natural beauty, heritage, and vibrant communities. The competition invited photographers of all ages to capture what makes the Northern Midlands unique—encouraging creativity while promoting sustainable tourism and local pride.

The panel noted the exceptional standard of entries, making the selection process highly competitive. After careful and long deliberation, one winner was chosen for each category: Open and Junior.
Exhibition & People’s Choice Award
To showcase the creativity and talent of participants, the Council will host an exhibition of the 25 finalists’ works:
This exhibition provides an opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with the stunning imagery and celebrate the Northern Midlands through the eyes of its photographers.

The winners of the Open and Junior categories will be officially presented their prizes during the Australia Day on Monday, 26 January 2026.
