Local Government Elections
Elections for Tasmania's councils are conducted by full postal ballot every four years. The next Local Government elections will be held October 2026 with the Polling period open from the 5th of October to the 27th of October 2026. Close of poll is at 2pm Tuesday 27th October. Ballot material will be delivered to electors by post from Monday 5th October 2026.
Local Government elections are administered by the Tasmanian Electoral Commission (TEC).
