Public Advisory: Recreational Water Safety Warning
Northern Midlands Council advises residents and visitors to exercise caution around local rivers and recreational waters following the recent rainfalls.
The high-water levels and strong currents pose a significant safety risk for swimmers. In addition, recent water quality tests have detected elevated levels of Enterococci, indicating a decrease in water quality that may pose health risks to swimmers.
Until further notice, Council urges the public to adhere to posted warnings and refrain from swimming in affected areas. Water quality will continue to be monitored, and updates will be provided once contaminant levels return to acceptable standards.
Your safety is our priority. Please stay informed and take necessary precautions when near waterways.
