Northern Midlands Council acquires former Perth Police Station

Northern Midlands Council has confirmed the acquisition of the former police station and residence located at 96A Main Road, Perth.

The purchase secures a prominent and historically significant site within the Perth township and provides Council with the opportunity to consider future uses that align with community needs and strategic priorities.

Mayor Mary Knowles said Council was pleased to have successfully acquired the property.

“This site is an important part of Perth’s built heritage, and Council is pleased to now have the opportunity to consider its future in a thoughtful and planned way,” Mayor Knowles said.

“At this time, Council is unable to provide further detail regarding the acquisition or any potential future use of the site. Further information will be shared publicly when appropriate.”

Mayor Knowles said the community would be kept informed as planning progressed.

“Any future decisions will be made through Council’s normal processes, and we look forward to engaging with the community at the appropriate time once more information is available.”
