Shaping the Future of the Northern Midlands

Have you ever considered representing your community and helping shape the future of the Northern Midlands?

Northern Midlands Council is inviting prospective candidates and interested community members to attend a Candidate Information Session ahead of the 2026 local government elections.

The session will provide a practical overview of the role and responsibilities of a Councillor, how Council meetings and decision-making processes work, the local government election process, and upcoming changes to Tasmania's local government legislation. Attendees will also have the opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of what is involved in serving their community as an elected representative.

Whether you are seriously considering nomination or simply interested in learning more about local government, this session is a valuable opportunity to explore how local decisions are made and how Councillors help advocate for their communities.
