The Ross Men’s Shed is growing! Thanks to funding from the Australian Government’s Investing in Communities Program, an exciting expansion is now underway, ensuring this much-loved community space continues to thrive for years to come.  

With construction in progress, the new of a 22m by 7m kit shed and verandah and additional internal works including an accessible toilet and shower facility, and work area, will enhance the facility’s capacity and functionality.

The facility, located at 9 Bond Street, Ross, has been a hub of friendship, learning, and hands-on projects, since securing a long-term lease in 2020, guaranteeing its presence for decades to come. The additional space will allow for more projects, better amenities, and an even stronger sense of camaraderie among its members.

Northern Midlands Mayor, Mary Knowles OAM, welcomed the expansion, saying, “The Ross Men’s Shed is a shining example of what makes our community so special. This funding and expansion will ensure its legacy continues, providing a welcoming space where people can connect, share skills, and support one another.”

The Northern Midlands Council proudly supports initiatives like the Ross Men’s Shed, which align with the Strategic Plan 2021–2027 by strengthening community wellbeing, fostering social connections, and enhancing local facilities.

With construction well underway, the future of the Ross Men’s Shed has never looked brighter with members eagerly looking forward to the benefits the expansion will bring.
