Campbell Town Streetscape Development

Northern Midlands Council has engaged DCS Civil Tas Pty Ltd to deliver Stage 2 of the Campbell Town Streetscape Development project.
Stage 2 will upgrade High Street between King Street and the Esplanade and improve parking areas in King Street and Queen Street.

Works include widening footpaths, upgrading pedestrian crossings, installing additional parking spaces on King and Queen Street, outdoor seating, landscaping and interpretation signage, and reinstating the historic Convict Brick Trail.

Stage 2 works will start Monday 7 September 2026. We will upgrade the parking areas on King Street and Queen Street first, so that these parking areas are available for use while we upgrade High Street. Most work will be completed between Monday and Friday, from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. When possible and safe to do so, work will also be completed at night, between Monday and Thursday, from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am.

High Street (Midland Highway) will remain open at all times in both directions. A reduced speed limit and traffic management will be used on High Street, King Street and Queen Street to protect road users and our workers. Please allow extra travel time and follow the directions of traffic controllers and signs. We appreciate your patience while this work is completed.
