Membership of Northern Midlands Council Local Recycling Committee

As a Special Committee of Council, members will be appointed and meet in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding to:
- Provide a focal point for information relating to waste disposal and recycling between the Northern Midlands Council and the community;
- Identify and prioritise achievable local recycling initiatives;
- Consider and provide feedback to the Northern Midlands Council in respect to key strategic recycling issues.
Members are to comprise of:
- Seven Community Members
- Two Councillors
- One Council Officer
There are currently 5 (five) community member vacancies, interested members of the community can apply for membership for the remainder of the current term. Applications for membership must be received by 8 March 2024. The term of membership will expire at 30 June 2024.
At the conclusion of a members term of office, members are eligible to reapply for membership of the Committee.
Applications for the 2024-2026 membership term, term to commence on 1 July, will be advertised in May and June 2024.

Applications for membership must be addressed to the General Manager, PO Box 156, Longford TAS 7301 or emailed to council@nmc.tas.gov.au, applications for membership for the current term to 30 June 2024 will be accepted until 8 March 2024.
