As part of our community services for families and children in the area, the council operates 3 Child Care Services in the Northern midlands, servicing Cressy, Perth and Avoca. About the roles

We are seeking a Degree-qualified Early Childhood Teacher to work across all of our services. For further information about this role you can visit our website at northernmidlands.tas.gov.au/careers.

At our Perth facilities we are seeking:

  • A full-time Diploma Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards) to work in our 0-18 months room.
  • A full-time Cert III Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards) to work in our 0-18 months room.
  • A part-time Diploma Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards) to work 21-24 hours per week on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in our 18mth - 3yrs room.
  • A part-time Diploma Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards) to work 25 hours per week across all age groups for programming and lunch cover

At our family-grouped Cressy service, we are seeking:

  • A full-time Cert III Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards)
  • A part-time Diploma Qualified Educator (Or Working Towards) to work minimum 20 hours per week

We welcome applications from Cert III or higher educators looking to join our team as Casual Early Childhood Educators, including from qualified educators who may only be available for School Holiday periods.

Reporting to the Childcare Director, the successful applicants will provide support and care for children in the centre’s, in accordance with children’s individual development plans, centre policy and relevant legislation.

The role will see you working with a passionate and dedicated team committed to delivering high quality programs and creating a positive environment to support children to thrive and grow.

About you

You will be passionate about your work and take pride in delivering high quality learning outcomes. You will be a great communicator with both adults and children, and you will be proactive in your approach to care and support. You will also have a sound understanding of the health and safety risks involved with working with children and be able to demonstrate sensitivity, patience, and kindness.

You must:

  • Hold the relevant qualification for the role that you are applying for
  • First aid certificate or willingness to undertake the training
  • Hold or be able to obtain a Working with Children's Check
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment medical including a musculoskeletal and fitness assessment, and a urine drug & alcohol screen

Terms and conditions of employment, including salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant and in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement.
