About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity which will see the successful candidate gaining on the job training and experience in engineering, drafting, project management and geographic information systems (GIS), whilst working towards and obtaining a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering Drafting and Design.

This position will be offered on a full-time basis, working a nine-day fortnight and remuneration will be dependent on your age and any previous qualifications you have, in accordance with the Local Government Industry Award 2020.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be reliable, self-motivated, have excellent communication skills, be able to manage your time and work priorities, and be proactive and show initiative.

For your application to be considered:

• Must have demonstrated mathematics and computer skills

• Must have exceptional attention to detail

• Previous experience with CAD, GIS, and other computer modelling software will be looked on favorably

• Able to perform ad hoc physical work at outdoor work sites including lifting up to 15kgs.

• Must have a current drivers licence

This is a Traineeship position. Salary rates will be paid in accordance with the traineeship/apprenticeship conditions as prescribed in the Local Government Industry Award 2020.

All other terms and conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement.
