About the role

Reporting to the Building & Maintenance Supervisor, and working within a small team, the successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with building and maintenance inspections, construction, maintenance and minor repairs of Council owned buildings and facilities throughout the municipality. You will also be expected to provide some on-going mentoring and support to other team members from time to time.

The role is offered on a full-time basis with hours arranged for a 9 day fortnight, and you will commence and finish work at our Longford Depot. Terms and conditions of employment, including salary (plus 13% Superannuation) will be negotiated with the successful applicant, in accordance with the Northern Midlands Council Enterprise Agreement 2022-2025.

About you

To be successful in this role you will be committed to producing quality outcomes, able to work independently as well as in a team, and have proven ability to follow written works plans. You will have great time management and be self-motivated to meet deadlines. You will also be reliable and punctual, and have a genuine commitment to working safely at all times.

Essential Criteria:

• Be a Trade Qualified Carpenter/Builder

• Hold a current Manual drivers licence

• Must hold current Construction White Card, or be able to attain this

• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, to interact with the community

• Must hold current Working With Vulnerable People (Employer) Clearance, or be able to attain this
